This work presents for the first time a comprehensive picture of the Scots College, Paris, a small college always struggling, yet exercising great influence on the Scottish Catholic Mission. When a Vicariate Apostolic for Scotland was established in 1694, the College provided three of the first five bishops. It brought Janesenist quarrels into Scotland, and played a crucial role in the Jacobite risings.
