Ladies and Gentlemen

one of my ancestors' family name was Mudrow. She lived in the Deutsch-Krone county in West-Prussia.

I've learned that many Scottish people migrated to West- and East-Prussia.

Could Mudrow be a name of Scottish origin?

On familysearch.org I found a James Mudrow who married Janet Wilson on 16 FEB 1596 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.

But this is the only entry of a Mudrow I found on the British Isles. Maybe it's a writing mistake?

Another ancestor's name was Schott. This name probably has been given to a person from Scotland after his migration.

Any comment would help, thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

Peter Schulz
