I am looking for any information for Alexander McRae's family in the highlands of Scotland. Birth, Baptism, marriage or death for Alexander and birth or Baptism for his wife Isabella(who died in Ontario, Canada, January 8, 1857, "aged 81 years native of Ross Shire Scotland"-from her headstone) or any of the children would be wonderful. Any second given names would also be wonderful.

Alexander possibly died in 1821 Inverness Scotland. (Possible 1st wife, Margaret McRae-b. abt 1776 in Glenelg, [parish], Inverness-Shire, Scotland?)

His widow, (2nd wife?) Isabella and five children imagrated to Canada in 1823. This family knew or was aquainted with a Donald Cameron "commonly called Squirt Cameron"-from Ontario, Canada, obituary of Alexander's eldest son Duncan McRae.

father-Alexander McRae b. abt 1770 possibly Glenelg, Inverness shire, Scotland

mother-Isabella b. abt 1776 Kintail, Rosshire, Scotland - from headstone in Ontario Canada

son Christopher-no information perhaps died abt 1837 'drowned at Natchez, Missippippi, USA'

son Duncan b. abt 1796 Kintail, Rosshire, Scotland-from headstone in Ontario, Canada

son William b. abt 1804 Lochcarron, Rosshire, Kintail, Scotland or Wigtownshire, Scotland-from obituaries Ontario, Canada

son Finlay b. abt 1808 'native of Inverness, Scotland'-from headstone in Ontario, Canada

daughter Isabella b. abt 1809 Scotland - no other information

    Hello :)

There are many Macraes in the Kintail area of Scotland. My few Macraes originated there. Have you come across this website?:

Hi: I can't access your Alexander Cameron McRae "Page not found".

Does he have the children listed e.g. Christopher, Duncan, William, Finlay and Isabella with dates of birth as indicated in my original information?

    What are your sources?

    thanks
